Some friends will get dry eye syndrome in winter, and the source of many dry eye syndrome is caused by unreasonable household lighting. Unreasonable lighting in the household environment can not only cause symptoms such as eye disease and insomnia, but even worse depression. Let’s take a look at the precautions for indoor lighting design with “Future Home Improvement Network” below.

99% of households only pay attention to the appearance, energy-saving and power of the lamps when choosing lamps, while the illuminance and color temperature of lamps and lanterns are related whether the lighting environment can meet the health standards, and few people care about it.

1, The color temperature should not be too high

Color temperature is the human eye’s perception of a luminous body or a white reflector, and is used in optics to define the color of light. Reddish colors have a low color temperature, bluish colors have a high color temperature, warm colors have a low color temperature, and cool colors have a high color temperature. It is recommended that the color temperature of the lamps used in the home should not exceed 6800k. The long-term high color temperature will not have a good impact on human health. In the home, lamps with different color temperatures should also be selected according to different lighting environments to meet the needs of human eyes.

Warm color light is suitable for the elderly in daily life, and cold white light is more suitable when reading newspapers or books and other reading lighting needs. When the spring and autumn season is irritable, the living room of young people’s life is recommended to set the lamps as a balanced light. It is recommended to lower the color temperature of the lamp when sleeping, which will help reduce the inhibition of melatonin, regulate the body clock, and relax people.

2, The color rendering is better

Color rendering is the fidelity of the color of an object under light. The light source with high color rendering can restore the color better, and the color is closer to the original color under natural light. Under a light source with low color rendering, the colors seen will have a large deviation, and things will deviate from the original color, which will easily lead to visual fatigue. Lamps and lanterns used indoors are required to have a color rendering index above 80. Pay attention to the light source or the label on the lamp when selecting.

3, Control glare

It refers to whether the light is dazzling or not. If it is dazzling, it means that the glare level is high. For LED bulbs and straight tube lamps, a diffuser is required, and the brightness is best controlled within twice that of energy-saving lamps. Spotlights and downlights should be controlled the light-emitting angle, and don’t let the eyes see the light source easily. When choosing lamps, it is better to choose lamps with safety certificates to avoid long-term use of inferior lamps and chronic damage to eyes caused by light pollution.

4. Don’t be too mixed in color

Some people like colorful lamps, especially in children’s rooms, colored lamps of various shapes are not good for the eyes, and may be detrimental to the child’s vision development. Do not just turn on the desk lamp for homework, but also turn on the overhead light to provide background lighting to avoid damage to eyesight. Turn on the lights when watching TV or using the computer to avoid visual fatigue and eye damage. Turn off some lights or lower the brightness after 9 o’clock in the evening to gradually increase the melatonin concentration in the body, so as not to delay sleep time and affect deep sleep. Try not to turn on the lights when you sleep, because the light will enter the retina through the eyelids, inhibit melatonin, and affect the quality of sleep.

5. Do not place fluorescent lamps on the bedside

Fluorescent lights placed on the bedside table have the disadvantage of stroboscopic light. Reading or playing on the computer in this environment can cause harm to the human body, such as decreased vision, dizziness, and insomnia.

6. Adjust the brightness of the adjustable light source to the maximum

At present, mainstream smart lamps can be brightened and dimmed according to lighting needs. Many families are used to adjust the brightness to the maximum, which not only greatly shortens the service life of the light source, but is also detrimental to human health. It is recommended that the brightness of the adjustable light source should be controlled between 60% and 80%, and the maximum brightness should not exceed 90%.

7, Turn on the light on one side of the TV wall

Some families install spotlights on one side of the TV wall and only turn on the lamps on the side of the TV wall when watching TV. This will affect the audiovisual experience and is not good for eye health. It is best to design wall lamps, desk lamps or floor lamps on both sides of the seat, and the brightness when watching TV is best adjusted to 50%.
